| The specialty was established in 1995. It obtained its
master's degree gift in 2000, and is one of the key construction specialties
of our school’s "985 Project". The specialty has made a
series of fruitful researches on subjects such as the planning and
project study of containerization in the Yangtze River valley, the
construction and planning of International Shipping Centre of Shanghai,
and the logistics plan of the area of the Changjiang Delta, during
which it has achieved three scientific findings.
The specialty owns the International Shipping Computer Center
of Shanghai Jiaotong University. And there is a professor and three
associate professors available in this department..
The specialty is mainly engaged in the planning, decisional and
managing theory of comprehensive transportation. Its main research
fields are as follows, management of transportation logistics, technical
and economic analysis of transportation system, and unified transportation
planning. After graduation, master degree candidates of this specialty
can be engaged in transportation planning and management or planning,
studying and designing of logistics schemes. They are suitable for
taking on some studying, managing and teaching jobs in governmental
planning departments, administrative research departments of transportation
and logistics, enterprises of transportation and logistics, or relevant
institutions of higher learning.
I. Training Objectives
The degree winners should possess a solid theoretical foundation
and systematical specialized knowledge, and know the international
developing direction in the transportation planning and management
field. They have certain ability in practical research and theoretical
analysis, and can correlate relevant practical problems and make
innovative research.
II. Directions of the Specialty
1. Technical and economic analysis of transportation system
2. Shipping and logistics management
3. Comprehensive transportation planning
III. Length of Schooling and Credits
