今后的科研规划
•交通信息系统:以交通地理信息系统(GIS-T)技术为核心,结合各种新技术和新数据采集手段如无人驾驶飞机,蓝牙,手机,及城市浮动车(FCD)数据等,研究未来城市在信息环境下的交通管理和控制的新理论和新方法。
•交通规划:城市交通与土地利用一体化研究,城市综合交通枢纽规划,区域综合交通网络优化与运行管理一体化。
•交通工程:交通改造,交通控制与管理,交通仿真。
•城市交通与气候变化研究,绿色交通。
•交通环境工程:基于无人机和各种微型空气污染物监测器,研究城市区域空气污染物时空分布与变化规律。

作为863首席科学家总负责 “十一五”国家高技术研究发展计划(863计划)“基于地空信息技术的稀疏路网交通监控及预警系统”的研究(2009.06~2011.12);参与国家自然科学基金重点项目“信息环境下的城市道路交通规划理论与方法”,主要负责基于GIS-T的城市道路规划理论研究(2008.01-2011.12)。主持包括美国科学基金项目在内的研究项目30多项,研究经费600多万美元。主持并参与美国国家自然科学基金,美国交通部、各州交通厅及联邦空间地理信息委员会等单位资助的项目20多余项,发表SCI论文50多篇。
